Have you ever noticed how you prioritize certain essential activities like brushing your teeth, having food, and sleeping, without even questioning the need for it?
These activities are so crucial to our well-being that we cannot afford to skip them. We know that they must be done, and there is no going back.
However, when it comes to putting in efforts towards our goals, we often make excuses and procrastinate. We may think that we can do it later, or that achieving our goals is not that important.
Until we give our minds the direction that our goals are crucial and must be achieved, we will keep making excuses and lack motivation.
To overcome this, we need to train our minds and offer them a placebo by creating a sense of urgency. We must make our minds believe that the work cannot be postponed and must be done now.
When we have an exam tomorrow, we revise the entire syllabus a day before, because we feel the need to do it. Similarly, we need to make our minds understand the importance of our goals and feel the need to work towards them.
Motivation comes from understanding the essence of the work at hand. If your work is important to you and means the world to you, nobody can take it away from you.
So, prioritize your goals and overcome the excuses and mood swings that hold you back. Remember, when you know that something is essential, you do not afford to even think if you have to do it or not.
